European Breads Bakery is the first bakery in Canada to introduce biodegradable bread bags as part of its commitment to sustainable development. European Bread Bakeries new biodegradable bread bags will prevent approximately 200 000 plastic bags from potentially hitting the landfills each year.

Take a bite out of alligator bread

The last time I wrote about European Breads and Bakery, I told you about their Georgian baguette made here and sold in Vancouver stores like Whole Foods, Capers, Famous Foods and other stores. The irregular alligator shape, the little tug of war it engages with the teeth are marks of hand-crafted artisan bread. Sliced open, it makes a wonderful sandwich, welcoming all fillings.

Georgia on my mind with French baquette's softer rival

It's time I shared my delicious discovery with you. It's the Georgian baguette, as made by Otari Kobalia of European Breads Bakery, 4324 Fraser St. It's a rustic baguette that's flatter and more irregular than the French version.
