Bread is meant to be eaten fresh. Nothing beats a slice of fresh European Breads Ukrainian Rye bread with just a bit of butter. However, because artisan breads are naturally leavened they can be frozen without losing their essence or texture. All of our breads are great for freezing now and serving later.

Our bread can be stored for 7 days either in a clean cloth bread bag, wrapped tightly in a paper bag, or placed on a wooden board and covered with a tea towel.

DO NOT STORE THE BREADS IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR! It will dry out, even if it is wrapped or packaged. Instead, store it in a cool, dark place in your kitchen or pantry breadbox.

Freshly baked bread can be frozen after it has completely cooled. Wrap it in plastic or freezer bag, expelling excess air before sealing. It will keep for up to 3 months. When you take it out of the freezer, leave it in the plastic bag for thawing until visible signs of water inside the bag have disappeared. Take it out of the bag and re-heat it in a hot oven for 10 to 15 minutes. It will be as good as fresh.

Spray the bread lightly with tap water and warm in a 400 degree oven for 10 min. Microwaving is not recommended, it will dry out and harden bread. Breads with thick crust can be made "crisp & crusty" again by placing the loaf directly on the oven rack for a few minutes before serving, preheat oven to 450 degrees.
